The Farmhouse at Turkey Hill

People often struggle to find the perfect place to eat a high-end meal and spend a relaxing time with family, friends, or a partner. The environment might feel too overwhelming, or the menu has a limited selection. It feels almost impossible to find the perfect spot, however, there happens to be one place that checks all the boxes. The Farmhouse an Inn at Turkey Hill has been impressing customers with its beautiful country setting and upscale meals for years. The property even offers a variety of inn rooms that traveling guests will find to be the perfect place to spend some time away

Warm, inviting light illuminates the entrance of the fine dining restaurant that creates a welcoming feeling for guests (Photo 1). The clear aroma of freshly made cuisine fills the customer's noses prior to them opening the front door. In the colder months, warmth from the roaring fire warms guests as they step into the lobby. Plush chairs and a sofa surround the hearth and give the room a feeling of comfort and tranquility. Shelves line the green walls and display books, picture frames, and other collectables for guests to admire. The polished wooden floors squeak slightly as customers approach the large wooden check-in desk. Guests sit at tables covered with thick, white tablecloths. Candles and small vases of flowers decorate each one's center, adding to the room's aesthetic.

The Farmhouse and Inn at Turkey Hill has a charming and alluring history. The story starts back in 1942 when Paul Eyerly and his wife Libby “purchased a nearly 100-acre farm in what was then known as the Turkey Hill district of Bloomsburg, PA.” The property’s original farmhouse was built in 1839 and became the Eyerly’s family home while raising their children, However, Mr. Eyerly had a dream to “one day turn their cherished farmhouse into a country inn, so that people passing by on interstate 80 could visit and form a lasting impression of the town of Bloomsburg.” Sadly, in 1983 he passed away, but this did not stop his dream from coming true. Elizabeth Pruden, Mr. Eyerly’s daughter, opened the Farmhouse and Inn at Turkey Hill. The property has 23 individual guest rooms, 16 of which surround a beautiful courtyard, gazebo (Photo 2), and goldfish pond. Now, years later, Andrew Pruden runs the property and “continues the tradition of high-quality service and hospitality set forth by his grandfather.”

“We pride ourselves for having excellent customer service.” a longtime employee of the farmhouse, Jenny, explains. Dozens of five-star reviews prove this to be true. The reviews rave over the “phenomenal” servers and their ability to be “attentive without being intrusive.” The staff at Turkey Hill “definitely need to be able to multitask and not take problems personally, be excellent at communication, and be able to anticipate and plan ahead.” Jenny informs. Many members of the restaurant and inn staff come from “a very working-class background” however they have become a key part of one of the most well-established dining and lodging locations in our area. The farmhouse has been described as one of “the best options in Bloomsburg” and guests leave insisting they will be back!

Customers often feel impressed at the extensive menu and the diverse options for appetizers, entrees, and desserts. One diner explained how they “had trouble selecting an entree” because several choices piqued their interest. Starter options include flavorful steamed clams, savory Cajun crab cakes, and multiple salad blends. A few main plate favorites include a perfectly cooked filet mignon, flavorful BBQ pork chop, and creamy seafood pasta (Photo 3). The Brazilian salmon happens to be one of Jenny’s favorite meals. She described it as a healthy but delicious menu option. A rotating selection of delicious desserts, including crème brulé, provides the perfect way to end your dining experience at the farmhouse!

People travel from everywhere to visit the Turkey Hill property. They might check in to the inn and sit down to a beautiful and relaxing dinner. Guests leave the Farmhouse and Inn at Turkey Hill already planning their next visit and the staff will make them feel right at home when they do!
