Ms.Monica has the ambition, the will, the need and most importantly the passion to help all types of people who come in her doors. The resources she provides are endless, whether it's to come in to vent about relationships, yourself and your mentality, home status and or to talk about school troubles and more. Regardless of the subject she is there to listen and do what's best for you. The LGBTQ+ center carters to different resources focusing on gender equality and advocacy. It focuses on providing a safe space for lesbian, gays, bisexual, transgender and more. Both centers present programs where they bring in speakers who talk about current social problems, sexual misconduct, physical abuse, rights and so forth! Not all programs are based on the speakers, most of them are to shed a light on what's important in the outside world. Her office is and forever will be a safe place.
As the director, Ms. Monica has lots on her plate, she faces many challenges trying to make everything right for every student. Deciding what times are good for programs and activities because all students have different schedules. Also determining what activities students would be interested in participating in. Regardless of the dilemmas she pushes against the oppositions because "Seeing someone believe in themselves and seeing how they could do something they didn't except they could do is my favorite part working in my field" she expresses.
Ms. Monica excitedly explains "Having the chance to help and bring upon positivity to other people. Also being able to learn and teach others is something really important to me"
Ms.Monica is the type of director all universities want and need. She dedicates her time to make sure each individual student is successful and well taken care of. Ms.Monica continues to spread positivity and raise awareness throughout her on campus. "I want all students to know these centers are welcomed to everyone and help is here. If I can't help, I will find someone who can".
