Andruss Library
Everyone has a place they go to do homework, test, or any schoolwork where they focus the most and get the most done. Some places can be your bed, your room, your kitchen, outside, or a study lounge. Andruss Library has always been a place to go where you can work on your schoolwork and other activities in a peaceful environment.

Andruss is an extremely comfortable place just walking through those heavy metal doors. College students tend to make their way over to Starbucks before heading into the library, which is one room away. First walking in you can hear the mummers of students talking with their friends in that room, the beeping of orders and workers shouting whose drink is up. Past what looks like metal detectors the sound of the people in Starbucks slowly fades into the distance, and Linda will be waiting for you at the front desk.
Linda the librarian, who is in about her 50s or 60s, will always be found at the front desk before you walk in. She always has a sweater on, and her red hair in a ponytail. She has a rosy-red cheek, and a huge smile that makes her eyes squint, and her skin wrinkle up. She has been working here for 25 years and is even an alumni. Linda announces, "I think it gets too quiet in here sometimes", and chuckles very loudly, grabbing the attention of a handful of people in the room. Linda never realizes how loud she is. She's the loudest in the library when she speaks, whether it's answering a student's question on where something's located or her distinct laugh while she's talking to her coworkers. She's deeply passionate about her job, " Am I crazy for having 6 library cards!" Linda once said. You can usually catch her reading a book on her computer when you walk past her desk.
Past Lindas desk the beige and green tile floor eventually turns into a green, purple, and white carpet. When you get to the peaceful environment, the scent of paper and old books hits your face. The rooms filled with murmurs and whispers, around the library you will find many diverse groups of students sitting with their friends or by themselves studying. There's a countless number of seating options in the main room, it's quite overwhelming. Rectangular tables scattered all over the room with six chairs at each table all made of wood, there's some couches as well in the mix of all of them that are like waiting room chairs. There are private rooms towards the right wall with glass windows so you can see right through the rooms that look like a conference room that you see in any movie. Towards the left of the library is singular study rooms, which is just a barrier made from wood with a desk that people study at as well. Toward the back of the are more couches, chairs, and a few more tables. You can find the back of the library lit up with light in the daytime with the window filled walls letting the natural light come in from outside.

Nothing was ever silent in the room. The was constant beeping of students swiping their id and the whizz of the printer, students crinkling up paper at the printer, smacking his or her stack of freshly printed papers on the desk to make the stack even, and the consistent rustling of paper being smooshed up and thrown into the recycling bin. There was constant taps of fingers being hit of the keyboards of college students computers, scratches of pen being scribbled on paper, continuous flips of someone trying to find there page of their book, whispers of people coming in until they found a place to sit, coughs and clearing of throughs from multiple students every few minutes, sighs of relief and frustration as a student either finishes his or her work or was stuck on a problem, the opening and shutting of the zippers on book bags as people came in and left, and of course, Linda not knowing how loud she's talking the student simply asking where the printers located.
The Andruss library is a wonderful place to study or do work, nowhere is absolutely quiet, but I feel it can be perfect depending on the type of person you are when it comes to studying and how you like your environment to be.
